The Walkers Switch
The Walkers Switch is Serial, but for crisps. Esquire has named it one of the best podcasts of 2020, and one of The Guardian’s podcasts of the week.
For 18 months, we investigated whether Walkers switched the colours of their Cheese & Onion and Salt & Vinegar crisp packets. 2 out of 3 people are convinced they changed. But Walkers deny it ever happened.
Over the course of 6 episodes, we attempt to solve the world’s greatest crisp-based mystery and uncover a more complex story than Walkers are willing to tell.
We search for a missing advert that countless people remember in detail, find a whistle-blower inside Google, hear shocking admissions from the man who made Walkers adverts in the 90s, track down Gary Lineker, hold a light up to the Tory party, speak to people inside the Illuminati, call on political theorists, astro-physicists and criminal barristers and question the very foundations of our memory.
This podcast is for anyone who’s accidentally picked up a Walkers Cheese & Onion pack thinking it was Salt & Vinegar. You deserve better. You deserve the truth.
